Artist, Robert Mayokok (1903-1983), was a native Alaskan artist, writer, and adventurer. He became a prolific artist and sold his depictions of Eskimo life in Anchorage galleries. His popularity earned him an invitation to demonstrate his work at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. His artwork is shown in museums around the country.
The plate depicts Alaskan Inuit dog sled team at rest. The salt & pepper set depicts Eskimos and cabin
Collector Plate Approx: 8 1/8 inches wide
Salt & Pepper Approx: 4 inches tall
Used or at least displayed set. Gold trim is lighter in sections. EG close up of plate picture. Manufacturing flaws shown on salt & pepper. Black graphics are intact.
